The Pathfinder team are highly skilled, with staff who are extremely experienced in youth work, family support, early years, mental health, housing, substance misuse, children’s social care, domestic abuse and associated fields. The project is overseen by a Strategic Lead who has 30+ years of social work in the criminal justice system.
We also value relational expertise – that is warmth, approachability, kindness, compassion, empathy, emotional intelligence and commitment to the Pathfinder’s values. Many people in the system who are rich in these skills and aptitudes are in low pay/status roles. The Pathfinder connects with and recognises the deep wisdom of such people and the huge value they bring.
Pathfinder Core Team
Our Pathfinder core team comprises our operational team, who supervise and support our school-based workers and manage the day-to-day operations of the Pathfinder in Northfield, and our strategic team, who take care of things like strategy, funding, communications and partnerships.

Pathfinder School-based Family Support Workers
Our school-based Pathfinder workers are based in – and employed by – Pathfinder schools. They are our frontline workers, and the main point of contact and support for our Pathfinder children and their families: their work with our families is where the real magic happens. They receive supervision, training and support from the core team, and are connected into our ecosystem of multi-agency support. Although based in schools, they can often be out and about on the road – meeting our families where they are and helping with whatever’s needed.
